Sam Cranwell is a UK based product design director

He has created physical products under the Helmm brand, designed apps for some of the UK's largest electric vehicle charging networks, transformed the online presence of many departments of the University of Oxford and orchestrated large design strategies like the Textile Exchange Material Change Index.

Sam is Head of Design at Mondra and leads a team of designers and front end developers on a climate technology product that is transforming the sustainability of food supply chains.

Previously he has held Head of Design roles for big data products at Transfer Room and Alix Partners, was Head of Design at digital agency Versantus, Creative Director at marketing agency Idealogical, founder of design agency Provide Design and founder of FunkBunk, one of the UK's first and longest running rural coworking spaces.

His current practice focusses on product experience and design trends and he enjoys speaking publicly on these topics.

During his more than 25 years in the industry he has had the honour of working with organisations such as ARM, Audley Villages, Badminton Horse Trials, Butlins, Global Canopy, Haven Holidays, Interflora, Lonely Planet, PGA European Tour, Post Office, Schneider Electric, Swarco, Ultimate Activity, University of Oxford and VoyageCare to name a few.

Sam still loves sketching with a pencil and when not designing products he is the vision behind graphics painted on the ground around some of the world's best motor racing circuits including Sochi Autodrom, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Pertamina Mandalika International, Hanoi GP Circuit and the 2022 Miami F1 GP street circuit.
